About the role:
New Zealand Government Procurement (NZGP) has a 6-month fixed term/secondment opportunity for an Advisor to join the Capability team and lead the programme delivery of the procurement graduate programme.
The Procurement Graduate Programme is a high profile and valued programme bringing early-in-career professionals into public sector procurement. This is a two-year programme where graduates have the opportunity to grow their expertise in procurement and commercial management through four six-month placements across our network of partner agencies. More information on our Procurement Graduate Programme.
We have an exciting opportunity for a human resources professional or organizational development professional to lead the delivery of this programme.
- Day-to-day management of the programme; includes pastoral care of our procurement graduates, responding to the needs of current host agency partners, and working with Finance, Marketing, People and Culture, and Engagement teams within NZGP and MBIE.
- Engaging with government agencies on being a partner agency, planning placements and matching graduates with agencies.
- Managing professional development for procurement graduates which includes coordinating their Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) studies and networking events.
- Programme administration including drafting paperwork for placements, managing and co-ordinating CIPS exams registration and managing quarterly host agency invoicing.
- Supporting planning for the next intake of graduates, including creating attraction and engagement plans, and working alongside other graduate programme advisors at MBIE.
You will report to the Manager, Capability, and be part of a small team that is responsible for designing, implementing and driving improvements in government procurement and property practice.
This role is full-time; however, we are open to flexible working arrangements, including reduced hours. Talk to us about what will work for you and your work/life balance. You could be returning to the workforce or want to broaden your skills in capability development. Either way, we’d love to hear from you!
