Our cafe is located in the Manawa Building within Christchurch’s Health Precinct. We serve specialty coffee and freshly made food, providing personal and friendly service and a space for people to take a break from their busy day. We are open Monday to Fridays only and are closed on public holidays as well as from Christmas to the 3rd week of January. We are a small team who value a friendly, fun and team oriented work environment.
We have a part-time casual barista/café assistant position available for an immediate start to work from Monday to Friday. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and serving beverages to customers to specialty coffee standards with speed, accuracy and efficiency
- Serving customers at the register, clearing tables and answering customer questions
- Preparing food items in accordance to cafe recipes, standards and instructions in a timely and efficient manner
- Restocking food and drinks cabinets, and providing a daily ordering list
- Cleaning and washing of cafe plates, cups, utensils and kitchen wares as required
We are looking for an experienced café person who is confident and comfortable in a fast paced and friendly cafe environment who can get up to speed quickly. This person will need to be able to:
- Work in a fast-pace environment which entails being able to serve multiple customer orders at once
- Receive and explain key order nformation with customers and staff in a quick and efficient manner
- Show experience in prepping sandwiches, salads and bake according to cafe recipes and standards
- Be open and teachable, who actively takes notes for new content
- Prepare espresso based beverages according to café standards
