Carpenters are expected to:
Carpenters are expected to:
- Understand building plans and drawings to determine materials, dimensions and installation procedures
- Plan the ordering and selecting timbers and materials, and preparing layouts
- Measure and cut materials to the right size and shape
- Assemble and nail the prepared wood parts to form structures and fittings
Carpenter Assistants are expected to:
- Assist Carpenters and performs routine tasks in erecting and fitting wood structures, general assistant with duties related to carpentry at construction sites
- Assist setting up the job site and preparing the layouts
- Help with cutting and shaping wood parts for installation
- Erect wood panels and frames during installation and joinery fitting Hardware installation
- Assist timber flooring and ceiling installation
Training will be provided so you do not have to come with relevant work experience.
Other requirements:
- Honest, reliable, hardworking with a ‘can do’ attitude and willing to learn
- You should ideally have careful mind with tools and equipment
- Adhere to the rules of health and safety
- Valid NZ drivers’ licence
