About the role
We’re looking for a casual staff to join our Metlifecare Karori Village, located just outside Wellington. You’ll be working under the direction of the Village and Care Manager. We have roles across; Kitchen, Laundry, Night Porter (Duty Manager) and Cleaning. You can pick up shifts in either of these categories or all of them. You decide!
Some of the things you will be doing
- Providing a safe environment to the residents
- Ensuring high standards of cleanliness are maintained
- Ensuring all heath guidelines are followed
- Treating residents with dignity and respect
About the Village
Metlifecare Karori is one of our largest facilities with 50/50 independent living and dedicated rest home/hospital level care and respite services. We utilize a number of different registered clinician services to cater the best possible results to the residents. At Metlifecare, believe in offering an holistic approach to all residents on sight. Everything from the layout and design of the grounds to the staffing ratios and structure focuses on wellness, not just clinical.
About you
We are looking for people with the right attitude with excellent communication skills and who can work as part of a team to provide support in maintaining our village to a high standard. Some things that will support your application include:
- Good level of fitness
- Previous experience is highly beneficial
- Relevant certifications i.e., Hygiene & Food Handling, First Aid
- Have impeccable personal presentation
- Bright, breezy “can do” attitude and a team focus

As a member of our bureau, you will have access too; On going in- service training (theory and practical), supported training or relevant certifications with accredited NZ educational providers, access to staff discounts and our employee wellness program and a full orientation provided with Buddying shifts during the first week.
