Pact is currently looking for a part time Community Support Worker to work in our mental health residential service in Invercargill.

Pact is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to work alongside people recovering from mental illness. We are seeking an individual who will inspire, encourage, be a role model, plus have excellent interpersonal skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.

We are looking for someone who is client-focused, easily adaptable to a dynamic environment, understanding, observant and non-judgemental. Further you will need excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate resilience, integrity and professionalism.

Our starting rate is $24.06 an hour and in increments increase to $28.25 after completing your Career Force levels, which is on the job based training. We offer a lot of training within in the job to ensure you have the skills to be the best support person within Pact.

Vacancies across a number of our residential homes require mornings, afternoons, sleep overs, and weekend work. Our vacancies range from 80 hrs a fortnight on a permanent roster to casual work.

We are the provider to work for, we have longevity within our teams, the ability to move around services and or departments, including ‘Supported Independent Living’, ‘Intellectual disability residential’ and many other options. Part time & Casual shifts available (16 hours per week)

As we operate 24/7, hours of work will include day, evening, weekend and sleepover shifts, this will be dependent upon roster.

Excellent communication and networking skills with the ability to build and sustain working relationships with our client, staff and external agencies is essential. Previous professional experience in the mental health field is desirable.

A level 4 or other relevant qualification in mental health is also desirable but not essential. Otherwise, there is an expectation that you will be willing to start working towards obtaining a level 4 mental health qualification after your first year of employment.

  • A full driver’s licence and computer skills are essential.
  • If on a work visa, this must be valid for at least twelve months
  • Must be available for an interview in Invercargill.
