Temporary full-time appointment up to three (3) years from entry on duty date

About the directorate

The new Student and Parent Experience (SPX) directorate has been established to help ensure students and parents are at the heart of everything we do in the delivery of education. The Complaints Resolution Team is a newly created function within SPX and will be responsible for the development and management of policy, process and managing the resolution of complex complaints to deliver improvements in satisfaction of complaint handling as well as managing advocacy and mediation services.

About the role

Develop expert advice and programs on education principles, polices, procedures and practices to enable the department to provide practical advice in response to complaints escalated for review within a school context.

The current transitional arrangement for the recruitment of Non-School Based Teaching Service positions, has been extended to include all Senior Education Officer 1 (SEO1) and Senior Education 2 (SEO2) positions across the Department.

  • Teaching qualifications and recent school based experience within the K-12 range
  • Demonstrated commitment to participating in and managing accreditation processes
  • Proven ability to liaise and negotiate with a range of stakeholders and work collaboratively within and across teams
  • High level written and oral communication and interpersonal skills and experience in the preparation of documents including briefings, reports and correspondence
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead and supervise staff, monitor high standards and work effectively as part of a management team
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, provide sound advice and work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to build the capacity of staff through the development and delivery of innovative programs and services
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, plan and implement strategic initiatives and innovative practices that support education change for improved student learning outcomes
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
