  • 0.5 FTE, fixed term or secondment position working afternoon and night shifts on a 4 on/2 off roster until 5th of June 2023.

  • Must have at least 3 years recent experience in an adult acute inpatient unit.
  • Must either hold or have commenced the post graduate pathway with the focus on nursing.
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with current APC and must have a mental health scope of practice.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Adherence to guidelines of Cultural Safety and the Treaty of Waitangi.

The Team: What we do

Specialist Mental Health Services (SMHS) has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse looking for a career development opportunity.

As part of the senior nursing team you-ll be responsible for supporting staff and the coordination of SMHS after hours, weekends and public holidays. The ability to multi task in addition to exhibiting excellent clinical skills is imperative, as you will be required to provide clinical leadership throughout the service as well as having responsibility for activating and managing the needs of the SMHS team and emergency responses after hours where necessary.

  • Working collaboratively with the different teams across the service to support and coordinate staffing and will strive to ensure the overall provision of quality care for our service users.
  • 0.5 FTE, fixed term or secondment position working morning, afternoon and night shifts over a 7 day period of until 5th of June 2023.
  • Senior nurse overseeing coordination of SMHS staff.
  • Must have at least 3 years- recent experience in an adult acute inpatient unit.
  • Must either hold or have commenced the post graduate pathway with the focus on nursing.
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with current APC and must have a mental health scope of practice.

Excellent communication and time management skills.

  • Adherence to guidelines of Cultural Safety and the Treaty of Waitangi.
