We are looking for a positive and proactive Health Care Assistant to support our busy and hardworking team within Ward 8 Medicine on a part-time, permanent basis.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
This is a vibrant and dynamic ward that meets the needs of patients presenting with a full range of acute medical conditions. We pride ourselves on having a strong focus on customer service, and its success is reliant on effective communication and teamwork.
This role will see you primarily focusing your attention to the overall needs of the unit. This role is within a clinical environment, and as an exceptional team player you will need to be able to take instruction and direction from the nurses on the ward, whilst having a helpful and team focused approach to making a real difference to the patients under our care. The hours of work for this role are predominantly for afternoon and night shifts.
As Health Care Assistant you will be involved in:
- Supporting our nurses and other members of the health care team
- Patient supervision and/or movement
- Patient cares, as required
- Stock reconciliation
- Ward maintenance
- Patient watch, with one on one care as required

This role belongs to the NZNO Collective Agreement on the Health Care Assistant scale between Step 1 ($46,182 p.a pro rata) and Step 5 ($53,803 p.a prorata)
