Hospitality Trainer and Assessor

National Training Organisation (RTO number 90772) is a Registered Training Organisation delivering a range of accredited courses in Leadership and Management, Transport & Logistics, Hospitality, Retail and Business. We are looking to engage a Contract Hospitality Trainer/Assessor to join our team.

The opportunity

As a Hospitality Trainer and Assessor, you will be responsible for providing training and assessment services to students of a diverse range of backgrounds in line with each individual’s training plan. Training delivery will be via correspondence, face to face training and support sessions, as well as assessment and observations.

Our Trainers and Assessors are required participate in reviews, pre-assessment and post-assessment validation and continuous improvement of the training resources and assessment material for the qualifications, they deliver while maintaining knowledge and practical currency directly related to the industry sector and training delivery and assessment.

We are looking for a passionate, engaging, experienced Trainer and Assessor who has held a a similar role in delivering practical and interactive training to hospitality establishments. Essential

• Trainer and Assessors must hold a TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment) with the TAE upgraded units TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools (or equivalent)
• Must have industry experience in the relevant field/s
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
• Excellence in student focus
• Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within the Hospitality sector, and experience within the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector, including an understanding of ASQA, training package requirements and RTO standards
• Possess excellent time management skills, with attention to detail
• Be willing to travel

Desired skills/knowledge but not essential

• Be a driven, supportive and community minded person, able to work with a range of learners to support them in building future opportunities for themselves through learning
• Have experience in delivering work ready skills
• A sound knowledge of the VET sector
• Have a Certificate III Hospitality or higher
• Have relevant qualifications and industry currency
• A flexible and adaptable attitude to your work, combined with a positive approach to problem solving will suit this position.

Key responsibilities

• Delivery of training and assessment in accordance with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
• Mark and provide feedback to student assessments
• Maintain currency of knowledge through professional development
• Participate in validation as required
• Liaise with students as they progress through their studies and keep records of interactions

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $45.00 – $55.00 per hour
