Based in Wellington
Are you excited about the future of learning?
Do you want to work with the latest technology?
Keen to be part of a collaborative and innovative culture?
Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand’s largest school and provides personalised and authentic learning programmes from early childhood to NCEA Level 3, including young adult and adult learners.
We are looking for a creative, innovative Kaiako (Teacher) who’s able to embrace the Kaituitui role to join our team in the Central South Region based in Wellington. The Kaituitui role delivers learning programmes through our Huinga Ako, working with our full-time ākonga, including young adults.
As a Big Picture School it’s an exciting time at Te Kura as we continue to innovate and transform the way we provide distance learning. In our online environment, we work with the latest technologies and are constantly growing in this space.
We’re forward thinking and do things a little differently, but that doesn’t mean no ākonga contact! You’ll interact with ākonga and their whānau at Huinga Ako, communicate with them using online tools, and guide a group of ākonga as their Kaimanaaki. We are committed to seeing you grow with us and development opportunities often crop up within Te Kura.
Interested in authentic learning, you model current pedagogy and are always coming up with new ideas. You’re enthusiastic, collaborative, understand the key competencies of the New Zealand curriculum assessment practice and are committed to improving education outcomes for students. You’ll also bring your proven skills and experience at building and maintaining effective relationships with ākonga and other stakeholders.
If you’ve nodded your head whilst reading this and thought ‘this is me!’ click that apply button, we want to hear from you!
Listen to Mike Hollings our Chief Executive, talk about the school.
