The Early Childhood Education and Care Team at UCOL Ltd has an exciting opportunity available for either part time or full time Early Childhood Education and Care Lecturers on a fixed term basis (initially for one year) who will be delivering the Level 4 Early Childhood Education and Care programme to the in-work and home-based sector.
The programme is delivered via a blended delivery approach using both face-to-face teaching and online classes. Teaching will be conducted in the evenings and on Saturdays (approx. every third Saturday per cohort). There will be the requirement to travel to support delivery of the programme.
As a member of UCOL Ltd’s Early Childhood Team you will have the ability to inspire others to pursue and achieve their dreams by offering them quality teaching, mentoring and motivation. You will engage, support and motivate the students to achieve their qualification, the first step to achieving their dream.
This position requires you to be hands on, facilitating one on one learning, mentoring and motivating students, leading workshops and working with students individually, so your well-tuned rapport building and communication skills will be required.
Skills / attributes:
- It is highly preferred that you have a teaching qualification, a qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (encompassing both theory and practice) and experience in teaching Early Childhood Education programmes
- Comfortable and competent using various forms of technology
- Comfortable and competent teaching via distance learning
- Ability to work with a wide range of learners
- Proven problem solving ability
- Able to think on your feet
The Universal College of Learning Ltd is a government-funded Institute of Technology, with four campuses in Manawatu, Whanganui, Horowhenua and the Wairarapa. We will be working with our Te Pūkenga subsidiary polytechnics across New Zealand to support the delivery of this programme.
