Load and Queue Management Assistant

The Aviation Security Service (AvSec) is the official provider of aviation security services in New Zealand. We are responsible for pre-boarding screening at Auckland Airport, utilising sophisticated explosive detection system equipment for threat items to keep the New Zealand skies safe and secure.

We are preparing for a busy period and are seeking fixed term staff to join until 31 March 2022 to assist us during this time, as Load and Queue Management Assistants. We have a number of positions for friendly, confident outgoing people to work alongside our professional Aviation Security Officers at Auckland Airport’s Domestic and International screening points.

As a Load and Queue Management Assistant, you’ll be based at the Airport screening point and will be responsible for greeting passengers, and preparing them for screening (e.g. ensuring laptops are removed from bags and passenger items are on the tray correctly before it goes through the x-ray machine).

Ideally you will have some customer service experience, great communication skills and will be confident in dealing with a broad cross section of people.

We are looking for individuals who will be available to work a shift rotation that includes early and late shifts of 5 and 6 hours respectively, including weekend work.

AvSec is a values-based organisation encompassing the values of Collaboration, Transparency, Integrity, Respect and Professionalism.

To be considered for this role, all applicants must be willing to wear a protective mask, be willing to have regular Covid-19 tests and a vaccination for their own health; and the health, safety and wellbeing of colleagues, friends, family and the wider community. Evidence of both Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine doses must be sited prior to employement for all successful candidates.

The recruitment process will require shortlisted candidates to attend an assessment centre which will be held in January 2022.

We work with a computerised rostering system so successful applicants will need to be available for the duration of the period above. Paid training will be provided to the successful candidates.

The rate of pay is $46,094 per annum, and pro rata for part time hours.

If successful, AvSec provides you with two polo shirts as part of the uniform which are to be worn with suitable black trousers and covered flat black shoes.

Due to the nature of the work we perform, only candidates without criminal convictions can be considered.

Please take a look at the Position Description for this role to find out if you have the relevant skills and experience and apply now!

Applications close Friday, 16 January 2022 at 11:59 PM.
