Middle School Tutor and Extended Day Teacher for 2022-23 School Year
Charles River School seeks a Middle School Tutor and Extended Day Teacher for the 2022-23 school year.
This position is Monday – Friday, 3pm – 6pm plus additional hours to be scheduled for tutoring. These hours could potentially be scheduled so that you could be on campus earlier than 3pm and then stay on for Extended Day. Duties include a minimum of seven one-on-one tutoring sessions per week plus five days a week at our extended day program from 3pm to 6pm.
The ideal candidate has experience working with Middle-School aged students in an educational setting and is comfortable with classroom management. They should possess good verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable interacting with parents. Experience with ADHD, Language Based Learning Differences and written expression is a plus.
Requirements and Responsibilities:
Extended Day:
-supervise various sized groups of students in the extended day program, including providing homework help, facilitating activities and managing behavior.
-work cooperatively with other extended day teachers
-comfort working with a mixed-age group of students
-be punctual and organized
Tutoring:
– communicate regularly and work cooperatively with classroom teachers and families to best support student(s)
– be punctual and organized
– support student(s) with homework and general academic skills
– flexibility in scheduling
– document sessions with student and maintain case notes
-comfort with the Google suite of applications
Compensation: Hourly Compensation of $29/hour (Extended Day) and an hourly rate TBD for tutoring, based on experience.
