Part – Time Food and Beverage Attendant / Waiter – New Plymouth, Taranaki

At Haukai Bistro & Bar we are on a mission to provide the best restaurant experience in New Plymouth and in our quest to be the best we have made changes to our operation to ensure we position ourselves at the forefront of guest expectations.

The restaurant focuses on regional cuisine that highlights the best local produce from the Taranaki region. Featuring indoor and outdoor dining areas, it is the perfect place to relax with a meal accompanied by a fine New Zealand wine. This is a very busy restaurant and we set very high expectations, so we are only seeking the absolute best people to deliver on our promises and to provide the ultimate guest experience.

We are currently looking at filling a few part-time Food & Beverage Attendant / Waiter roles (10-15 hours per week) and are seeking experienced hospitality Front of House superstars to join our friendly team.

What the Role will Entail:

· Working a roster basis, Monday to Sunday, morning, lunch, and/or evenings

· Occasional event shifts

· Order taking from guests

· Making and serving barista coffees

· Serving food, a la carte and buffet-style

· Pouring and serving beverages including wine, beer, and spirits etc.

· General cleaning and clearing of dishes/ glasses from tables in the restaurant and at our events

· Set-up of the restaurant for breakfast/lunch / dinner (depending on your shift)

· Event set-ups

Experience and skills required:

· Some Food and Beverage Attendant experience will be beneficial

· Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and smile at the same time

· Ability to work in a team environment

· Ability to establish relationships with people from all walks of life

· Clean, professional clothing and stellar grooming habits

· Barista coffee knowledge and skills will be beneficial

· Experience in buffet and A la Carte service

· Beverage knowledge (including wines, beers, spirits and cocktails) will be beneficial

· Confidence pouring and serving/presenting wine and beer

· Friendly, energetic and hard-working attitude and outstanding customer service skills

· Ability and confidence carrying three plates (hot plates), clear five plates will be beneficial

· Good command of English (both written and verbal) and great communication skills

· Experience using a MICROS point of sale system would be advantageous, but not required

· An LCQ certificate will be advantageous

· A Current Manager’s certificate will be advantageous
