Permanent, Part-time

45 hours per fortnight (0.5 FTE)

Monday to Friday 9.30am -2.30pm

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic person with an interest in science, an eye for detail, and a customer service orientation to work in the specimen reception area of our laboratory.

The specimen reception area is the busy hub of the clinical laboratory. You will be working with a team of people dedicated to correctly identifying and processing high volumes and a wide range of laboratory samples in a timely manner to support the clinical laboratory.

The role includes preparing samples for testing, data entry, taking phone calls, and advising clinicians as appropriate.

Ideally you will be a Registered Laboratory Technician or Preanalytical Technician looking to work in a friendly, busy team. However, you may be wanting to find a future career in the Laboratory. In this situation we offer training to the right person to gather skills and knowledge in the health sector and become a Registered Preanalytical Technician.

The person we are looking for will have excellent keyboard skills, a science background, be a quick learner, take pride in their work and have a common-sense approach.
