Kōrero mō te tūranga, About the Role:

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our team on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday, part-time if you prefer. Based at our world class cancer centre in Wellington, this role reports to the Nurse Manager and is responsible for providing radiation and medical oncology nursing care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute expert advice and demonstrate contemporary nursing knowledge and skill in oncology nursing practice in accordance with current legislation and professional standards and codes of practice.
  • Support the Nurse Manager in the day to day operations.
  • Administer chemotherapy and supportive care treatments.
  • Support a high performance culture that delivers quality patient care services through a patient centric and collaborative approach.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care of patients.
  • Manage and educate patients undergoing radiation therapy.
  • Learn new skills and be at the forefront of cancer treatment in New Zealand.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Recent experience in Medical Oncology and/or Haematology Nursing desirable.
  • NZ Registered Nurse with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and hold a current practicing certificate.
  • Competency with chemotherapy administration.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the provision of exceptional patient care.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the delivery of high quality patient care and service.
