Join our Aquatic Services team as Swim School Team Leader and lead our Swim School in the successful delivery of high-quality, accessible aquatic programmes for the wider community in Ōtepoti Dunedin.
You will bring your highly effective and collaborative people skills and passion for customer service, supporting staff and encouraging teamwork both within the Swim School as well as all other areas of Dunedin City Council Aquatic Services.
Draw on your proven experience and transferable skill set to demonstrate experience in financial and risk management, business development planning and implementation, accurate evaluation, and reporting.
In this position you will be responsible for the overall management of a total of 13.98 FTE staff.
Your responsibilities within this role include the following:
- Overseeing the successful provision of Learn to swim programmes and events through the efficient and effective use of resources with a goal of continuous improvement in the running of the business unit.
- Participate in strategic and financial planning, ensuring the Swim School operates within its allocated budget and revenue targets defined within budgets are met.
- Explore opportunities for growth and development where efficiency could be increased within the Swim School.
- Develop and support the implementation of effective maintenance plans for the swim school assets and equipment.
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a leadership position.
- Ability to understand and meet the needs of our community including people of different age groups and cultural backgrounds.
- The ability to lead and motivate staff in a complex and changing environment.
- Adaptable to new technologies, systems and facilities that enhance efficiencies in the work environment.

Salary Range: 75,404 – 88,710
