Team Leader: Student Mentors – Fixed Term 12 months
About the role:
Our Team Leader has been seconded to another role and we are looking for somebody to replace her on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
Although our preference is for an experienced team leader we are willing to support kaimahi wanting an opportunity to step up, learn and grow.
In this role you will be responsible for the day to day activities to ensure the delivery of learner centred services and positive interventions.
You will lead and guide a high performing team of Student Mentors by focusing on data and analysis to inform the activities of your team.
Reporting to the Manager: Learner Success & Engagement Services, Learning Delivery, our ideal candidate will have;
- Demonstrated success in leading and managing teams or willing to learn
- Ability to lead team cultural competency and engagement with priority learner groups
- Understanding of the tertiary education sector including knowledge and experience of trends in ODFL
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Sound IT skills and experience with web-based educational technologies.

You will have a passion for impacting the lives of everyday people and seeing them achieve their educational goals and dreams. For the success of our learners you will be constantly striving for you and your team to be the best you can, and you will pride yourself on the quality of your work.
Ideally you will have;
- An undergraduate degree
- Management or team leader experience, preferably in a tertiary education environment or a desire to move to this level
- Experience gained leading teams or people in other environments
