Mahi Ngātahi | Who You Will Work With

The University of Canterbury (UC) is situated on a beautiful campus located in Ilam, Christchurch. The Trade Management team serves UC to lead the delivery of asset management and maintenance for UC’s built assets in order to meet expectations on operational requirements, fitness for purpose, availability and reliability, and legislative and regulatory compliance.


Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

You will be responsible for ensuring strategic and operational objects are achieved through clear and direct leadership. You will oversee the day-to-day work scheduling of maintenance, repairs and work, quality assessments of completed jobs and project management ensuring all projects are completed on-time, on-budget. Participating in the assessment and continuous review of the UC Asset Management Plan and contract management will also be part of your role.

Using your knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations you will model, champion and enforce safety in the workplace. Being familiar with using SOP, hazard assessments, record keeping and the use of PPE is a requirement.


Mōu | Who You Are

Ideally you will be a licensed building practitioner with at least Advanced Trade Certificate (NZQA Level 5) with extensive building/construction/commercial industry experience. You will have experience managing effective teams and have practical experience as a site foremen/project or trade group manager.
