About the role:
An amazing opportunity to join our growing Wellington campus to teach our Bachelor of Software Engineering Programme. You will be walking into an energetic environment where value is placed on delivering outcomes rather than micro-managing work and tasks. You will be given autonomy to work in a way that gets the best results and will be expected to take responsibility and make things happen. Some of your key responsibilities will be to:
- Participate in the continuous improvement of course content and teaching resources
- Deliver assessments and evaluate to prescribed national and local qualification standards
- Assist with the care and maintenance of classrooms/labs and teaching equipment and resources
- Record accurate student data, assessment results, attendance, student-at-risk, and other required documentation
In this role, you will also support the delivery of our Bachelor of Software Engineering programme in Auckland and across New Zealand via remote delivery.
About you:
You will describe yourself as an enthusiastic, positive, patient, and motivated self-starter who has a passion for sharing knowledge and trying new things. Your exceptional communication and time management skills along with the ability to connect and build relationships will be the key to your success! Ideally, you will also have
- Appropriate post-graduate qualifications in related discipline preferably Master’s or above
- Experience in the field of computer networks with a specific focus on Wireless Networks
- A good understanding of routing and switching principles and technology (CCNA, CCNP level desirable)
- A thorough knowledge and work experience in different areas of cybersecurity
- Experience in using a range of network simulators/emulators like Cisco packet tracer and GNS3
- Knowledge of object-oriented development languages like C++, python
- A track record of continuing successful research and scholarly activity
- Experience in making web applications using Python and Javascript
- Familiar with tech stacks: Frame works such as Django and ReactJS
- A good understanding of Academic practices APA referencing
- Willingness to contribute to the research and publication output of Yoobee and the faculty through participation in appropriate research projects
- Ability to connect with students through a variety of delivery methods and provide basic pastoral care and support
- Keen to expand your adult teaching skillset as part of your professional development
- Commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi.
