Mō tō mātou rōpū – About our team:

Transforming New Zealand’s Public Health System

The Minister of Health has committed to transforming New Zealand’s Public Health system. The changes will reduce fragmentation, strengthen leadership and accountability. In particular, the changes aim to improve equity of access and outcomes for all New Zealanders. The Partnership between HNZ and MHA in ensuring Te Tiriti obligations to improve Māori health are embodied in the new entities. The formation of HNZ and the MHA is a key component of the transformation of New Zealand’s Public Health system. The entities will be formed at the passing of legislation expected to be in place from 1 July 2022.

The NCTS Enablement & Support function within the National Investigation Tracing Centre (NITC), focuses on the creation, delivery and management of training content that support strategic outcomes for the NITC, and enables the consistent use of the national contact tracing solution across Public Health Units and Service Provider networks.

Te whainga poto o tēnei tūranga – What is the purpose of this position?

The Change Lead, Enablement & Support, has a critical role in supporting and enabling the translation of technical changes and improvements into accessible and compelling communications and materials for a range of stakeholders. You will work closely with the NCTS Product and NITC teams to deliver training outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing key NCTS change management artefacts that support strategic outcomes for the NITC including Change Impact Assessment, Change Impact Rollup, Readiness Assessments and Change Management Strategy/Plan
  • Delivering engaging and regular change-focused sessions for a range of stakeholders that communicate the size and significance of changes according to defined project rhythms and milestones including; Readiness Checkpoints, super-user engagement sessions and Leadership Alignment sessions
  • Enabling technical changes and improvements to a range of stakeholders

Developing improvements of processes, tools and frameworks within the wider team, group and other Ministry resources to ensure change artefacts and materials accurately reflect technical changes and improvements

To be successful in this position you will be able to operate in a fast paced and changing environment whilst not compromising quality. You’ll enjoy working in a collaborative way to create outputs within tight timeframes. In addition, you will bring;

  • Strong understanding of Change Management approach and implications
  • Applied knowledge of change management strategies and methodologies
  • Experience working within a public sector organisation, and familiarity with the machinery of government and health sector in New Zealand
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder management and coordination capability
  • Confident in translating technology-related functional changes into simple language for a range of stakeholder
