Scots College is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to join its Laundry team. The successful candidates will bring can-do experience to our unique environment to ensure that laundry for the College and Boarding House is always completed to a high-standard, and that the Laundry is maintained in excellent condition, with health and safety being paramount in this area.

We currently have an opportunity for a full-time worker in this area. Duties would mainly be during normal business hours, Monday to Friday but there may be times you are asked to work outside of these hours. If you have any similar experience and are looking to work full time, then this could be the role for you.

If you were successful in being appointed to this position, you can expect to be paid above the minimum wage be part of a small team working in a dynamic environment.

“Person Profile” of the Successful Candidates:
Having had experience in a similar role, you will be reliable and hard-working, as well as capable of managing the physical demands of this work. You must be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a school or educational institution, although this is not essential
  • Excellent referee reports
  • A proactive approach to your work
  • Energy and enthusiasm, able to consistently go the extra mile
  • Good communication skills and the ability to fit in with a good-natured team that works well together
  • A strong health and safety focus
  • An eye for being able to spot the little things that make a big difference
  • A “can do” and “will do” attitude
  • A work history which shows your reliability and honesty – without doubt
  • The ability to work alone or alongside others, as required
  • A clean police vet and NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit
  • That you meet the requirements of the Government mandate for workers within schools in terms of Covid vaccinations
