At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whānau.

Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role

You will provide awesome, proactive, flexible and energetic support and will contribute to all aspects of the Managers work including planning, organising and contributing to the coordination of the work of others.

The workload associated with this role will be demanding, requiring first class judgement, personal organisation, and flexibility, as well as an ability to work to absolute deadlines.

Mōhou ake | About you

You will be an experienced EA+ who’s looking to diversify your skillset and is comfortable supporting at Group Manager level.

This is a diverse, challenging and rewarding role that demands excellent organisational and communication skills. You will be resourceful, self-motivated, proactive and confident in taking responsibility.

Ideally you will have proven experience relative to the requirements of the role ideally within the public sector, some knowledge/experience in a property or finance related field would be of benefit but is not essential.

You will also offer:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to calmly and effectively address complex situations
  • Attention to detail and excellent time management and organisational skills
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships across a diverse group of contacts
  • Creativity and able to assist in developing a good team culture, positively contributing to team meetings and celebrations
