Manfeild Park, located in Feilding in the Manawatu District, is a premier event centre in the lower North Island, with capability to deliver a wide range of local and national corporate, sporting and community events in their expansive facilities across 72 hectares.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Financial Controller is a critical role within their senior leadership team and will support the efficient financial management of their vibrant and growing business.

This is a varied role, with responsibilities ranging from hands on tactical tasks through to project work and the opportunity to add value strategically. Just some of the responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of accounts payable and receivable, monthly and annual accounts and the management of payroll and other core HR accounting functions
  • Annual budget planning and forecasting in tandem with the Business Development Manager and the CEO
  • Maintaining and managing their Fixed Asset Register
  • Supporting the annual audit process

Manfeild Park are fully set up to work remotely and there is flexibility in how and where you work the 25 hours per week. There is a preference for you to be in the office on a Tuesday and Thursday.

Person Profile:

  • Xero super user with a sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • A formal accounting qualification with demonstrated experience supporting financial management systems and processes in a multifaceted business environment
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • A positive, can-do attitude
  • The ability to work methodically and systematically with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Analytical and proactively looks to improve systems and processes
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to display sound judgement
  • Able to seek efficiencies and pursue electronic solutions
  • Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service to all internal and external stakeholders
  • A communicative and open style with a ‘no surprises’ approach
