About the opportunity:
Our client underpins national scale analytics and collaboration programmes for central governments, insurers, financial services and health care providers. They are running the New Zealand Government Social Investment Data Exchange and have delivered transformative projects for the largest insurer in Australia and the UK Government.
Role description:
Your role will include contributing to the current and future technical design, build, and management of the data exchange platform. You’ll head up the Engineering and Development team and work closely with other teams as the business continues to grow and meet the daily needs of our customers. As a Technical Leader, your role is integral to the company’s success.
Responsibilities will include:
- Work closely with the product team to design solutions that meet scale, reduce complexity and provide platform stability
- Create architectural approaches for software design and implementation to guide the offshore development team and ensure our platform and systems can perform to the highest standards
- Contribute your knowledge, wisdom and technical knowhow to the team and help build elegant, efficient and generally fantastic cloud-based software
- Give the team direction and manage the build, deployment, testing and support processes
- Help manage the security program for the product, to make sure the company is compliant with relevant best practice standards
- Help to coach the team into a CI method of delivery, alongside working closely with the Product Team to work toward spec by example
- Actively build relationships within the business and with teammates -Ask questions of others and learn the business you’re in
- Actively contribute to a climate where you’re highly engaged and feel empowered and share these ideals with the team
- Identify and implement continuous business improvement opportunities
This role will suit someone with the following background / experience / qualities:
- 5+ years experience as Senior Developer / Engineer and providing architectural leadership
- 5+ years experience mentoring/leading teams
- Excellent knowledge of application design
- Experience in software development & coding, Understands Agile and Lean methodologies
- Experience with web services, SaaS based services, multiple tech architectural approaches
- Experience in the delivery of a product or platform as a service (PaaS), cloud technologies
