About the School
The School of Nursing, Midwifery, Health Sciences & Physiotherapy offers undergraduate programs that are highly regarded by the profession and a range of postgraduate coursework and research programs. About the role
The National Deputy Head of School is a key leadership role, reporting to the National Head of School.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership of the implementation of the School’s courses and programs at the campus and program level including contributing to quality assurance and achievement of targets.
- Oversight of and contribution to the performance of the School in relation to Learning and Teaching, Scholarship, Research and Pastoral Care.
- Management of the School’s campus budget allocation and contribution to the financial management of the National School through relevant financial delegation.
- Management of School staff, including supervision, workload and leave management.
- Key representational and leadership role of the School providing local responsiveness to campus-based Committees, external stakeholders and industry partners.
- Key national School and Faculty roles as agreed with the National Head of School and Executive Dean including the leadership and delivery of projects that are of strategic importance for the University.
Selection Criteria
Essential
- Supportive of the Objectsof Notre Dame as a Catholic University.
- Senior Nursing or Midwifery practitioner registered with AHPRA demonstrating a thorough understanding of the current and future priorities and challenges in Nursing and Midwifery education through the continuum.
- Successful track record of academic achievement (education and/or research) and demonstrated strong leadership and management skills in higher education and/or the health sector.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen, conceptual and analytical skills and the capacity to drive excellence in teaching and learning and research.
- Advanced skills in communication, negotiation, coaching and mentoring staff, students, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic and operational plans and change at multiple levels.
- Demonstrated commitment to work collaboratively across internal stakeholders and capacity to be an effective and collegial member of the School and Faculty senior leadership teams.
