• Must have a minimum of 4-6 years of Armed Security Experience.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must possess a Valid Current VIRGINIA DCJS Armed registration with endorsements (9mm Pistol)

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be at minimum 21 years of age and preferably with experience in the police or military field.
• Must be able to work flexible schedules (Rotating Nights, Swing, Weekends, and Holidays).
• Exercise sound operational judgment, as well as the flexibility to shifting priorities and challenges.
• Professional and positive communication style.
• Must be able to prove to have a cool and level temperament and make intelligent decisions while working under pressure.
• Must have demonstrated the ability to work with large crowds. (and at times unruly persons)
• Ability to work independently and to adapt to various work-paces while always maintaining a high level of attentiveness and energy.
• Must have and maintain an active Armed DCJS Registration and qualify to carry firearms.
• Must be a Self-Motivator with Good Work Ethics
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Overtime paid after forty hours worked.
• Must have the ability to conduct extended foot patrols.
• Ability to effectively communicate with others.
• Ability to prepare and Maintain accurate records and reports.
• Ability to respond to emergency situations as per operating procedures.
• Ability to hear & see in low light situations.
• Capable of working outside in extreme weather conditions.
• Capable of comprehending site-specific policies and standard operating procedures and the ability to implement such as needed.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Armed Security officers usually perform the following tasks under the direct supervision of their Supervisor or Manager. Conduct routine patrols of the site to which they are assigned either by foot or motor patrol. Performs access control functions to the facility and or buildings. Protects client property and personnel as per the site standard operating procedures. Monitors CCTV and alarm systems as needed. Implements emergency protocols and or drills as needed and or required.

Duties also include:
Communicating with and providing assistance to the public plus assistance with reports and duty logs; maintaining security at the client s facility by properly working his or her assigned post; conducting roving patrols; reporting security incidents or hazardous conditions; screening employees, guests, and visitors to the client s facilities; monitoring security alarms or fire systems; issuing and controlling visitor passes; and maintaining and monitoring the visitor sign-in and sign-out log.

Functional Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining a secure environment and thereby protecting and securing the personnel, guests, visitors, and property of the client. Must be dependable, reliable, and possess sound judgment. These positions require the active knowledge of threat detection, and your ability to protect the asset from threats [known or perceived], with aggressive observation and patrolling. Must have the ability to consider your environment a threat until you deem it safe. Must continuously assume that you are being monitored by unknown entities. You will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment and thereby protecting and securing the personnel, guests, visitors, and property of the client. Must be dependable, reliable, and possess sound judgment. Must complete a background investigation to include a criminal, credit, reference checks, and a drug screening. Must have good interpersonal skills and present a neat and professional appearance.

Physical Criteria include:

• The ability to lift 25 pounds regularly
• The ability to respond quickly to sounds
• The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
• The ability to ascend or descend stairs quickly while carrying 25 pounds
• The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
• The ability to work in extreme weather
• The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day
