Due to sustained business growth over the last 5 years and a growing market focus on employee wellbeing in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are looking for an additional business development consultant to join our successful team. You will have responsibility for introducing and positioning our wide range of people risk solutions which includes the following: group health, life and disability insurances as employee benefits; workplace occupational health and injury management services; international student and seasonal worker insurance when the New Zealand borders do re-open fully.

We will count on you for:

• Setting up and undertaking discovery meetings with prospective customers

• Running tender process with our insurance underwriting suppliers, analysing available options

• Writing review and recommendation reports

• Presenting our solution alongside our Client Executives and finalising commercial terms

• You will also be representing Mercer Marsh Benefits at networking events, trade shows and industry associations

• Develop and maintain excellent internal and external stakeholder relationships to preserve and protect company’s relationships at all times

• Recognise and capitalise upon revenue generation, growth and other opportunities

• Contribute towards the Company’s profit objectives through the effective management and attainment of revenue and expense budgets

• Lead, plan and implement clear and effective renewal and broking strategies, ensuring renewal performance meets required standards

What you need to have:

• Strong experience in a business to business new sales origination and execution role, ideally selling complex, long-cycle solutions to stakeholders in the human resources or related fields

• A strong on-line social media profile that positions you as an expert in your field is a given, but the ultimate success of this role will be based on your ability to target and then successfully engage with new corporate customers (small, medium and large) across all industry sectors.

• Ability to recognize opportunities to generate new revenue/opportunities

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to quickly connect with people

• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills

• Ability to work autonomously as well as a part of a team

• Experience in the insurance industry will be preferred but not essential

• Level 5 financial advice insurance industry qualification is a must for this role which we will support you with.
