Lifetime Learner Experience (LLE) Unit is part of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Students portfolio and was formed in 2021 to enable the alignment of a range of learner acquisition, administration and assurance activities which are critical to the success of the UTS 2027 Strategy and in supporting the UTS Vision.

The LLE Unit consists of four (4) functions:

  • Future Learners – approx. 100 FTE
  • Current Learners – approx. 100 FTE
  • Office of Quality Assurance (OQA) – approx. 9 FTE
  • Operations – approx. 25 FTE (excludes casuals)

The Scholarships team sits within the Future Learners team and supports the establishment, promotion, selection, and ongoing recipient management of over 130 UTS coursework scholarships and prizes. Staff in this team must work collaboratively with other teams within LLE to ensure deadlines are met and outcomes achieved, particularly during peak times. This position may be affected by leave exclusion periods.


About the role

The Senior Officer, Scholarships reports to the Senior Coordinator, Scholarships, and is responsible for the efficient administration of student-related matters providing high level scholarships related support to the Scholarships Team, its customers and stakeholders, solving problems supported by policy, providing peer training. The Senior Officer, Scholarships handles a number of competing priorities while monitoring and ensuring operational and customer service standards are met.


Main skills and experience required

  • Demonstrated ability to use required technology (e.g. student system, Microsoft suite) with a high level of accuracy, applying attention to detail, including the ability to train and support others and troubleshoot problems.
  • A high degree of accuracy with figures and high-level numeracy skills, including the ability to manipulate and analyse data from a range of sources.
  • Ability to interpret and adhere to relevant University rules, policies and procedures, including supporting others in their application.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to proactively identify issues, provide advice and exercise sound judgement within the area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience working in teams supporting a range of customers and stakeholders in a complex technical or administrative environment.


Remuneration & Benefits


Base Salary Range:
$84,932 to $91,959 pa (HEW 6). This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full time and appointments will be made on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
